The number of players on court at any one time
A game is divided into 4 quarters
Underage = 7-10 mintues.
Mens and Womens = 10 minutes
Depending on the quarter length, the game can take 1 to 2 hours
Each team is allow 2 Timesouts in the first half and 3 in the second. Each timeout is 60 seconds
Malahide BC suggest that Academy players use rubber basketballs as they are hardwearing and can be used outside.(€10+)
The leather ball can be only used gyms. This type of ball is expensive (€45+) and needs to be care for. The Leather ball is the official game ball.
The hybrid ball is made to allow for both indoor and outdoor use. Not as controllable as a leather ball but great for indoor and outdoor use.
