Our inclusive ‘All Stars’ team was established in 2022, and run by head coach Alison Murphy.
We provide a safe, child centred environment to develop all the fundamental skills associated with playing basketball. Our players have evolved their skills to playing regular small sided, cross court matches.
This team is expanding every season. We have a large group of volunteer coaches from within our club community who can provide one to one coaching to each player.
We have participated in tournaments with other inclusive teams within the Dublin region; and are planning our next tournament visit and hosting our own tournament day in the coming months.
This team is known for their regular parties celebrating birthdays and sporting achievements.
Basketball Ireland developed the SOCIAball programme; designed to re-engage women and girls with basketball. This programme provides a non-competitive environment with an emphasis on fun, socializing and moving in a safe environment.
The ‘Malahide Hoops’ Sociaball team was set up in 2022 and run by head coach Clare Carey. Thanks to the dedication of all the coaches this team continues to welcome new members and has expanded considerably over the past two years.
National and local tournaments, friendlies against other Sociaball teams and weekly coaching sessions ensure these ladies are keeping active and constantly developing their basketball skills.
Several players have evolved into coaching our junior club members and others have moved on to our senior ladies and Masters teams.
It is hoped over time we can create a new senior league team from this pool of players and develop a ‘Teen Sociaball’ team.
